There's no panel on the back that comes off with one screw, so you have to take the whole back off.
SAMSUNG LAPTOP TOUCHPAD DRIVER NP700Z5C UPGRADE
USB 3.0 is very handy for external hard drives.Ĭons: To upgrade the hard drive is a bit unconventional. I love the matte screen as well, good move in my opinion. 6GB of RAM is plenty, and the i7 runs like a dream. You'll notice the difference instantly if you're upgrading from a lower-end laptop. The build quality and style rival the 15" Macbook, and the specs are only just behind in a few areas. I bought mine used on another website for $700, which is an AMAZING price for a machine with this kind of quality. I went from a beefy desktop to this laptop because I'm never home and always on the move. This thing is slim, sleek, powerful, solid, fast. Pros: Honestly I don't understand all these bad reviews. Most of the settings are fine as is, but I had to manually tweak it for certain things in Visual Studio to work properly. Less graphics intensive applications will use the onboard card. The computer has special settings that allows either the onboard graphics card or AMD graphics card to be used per application. I ran into one oddity with the graphics card. The power settings of course can be customized based on your needs. But oddly the battery drain appears to be around the same.

I can definitely tell the difference between going from the battery saving "Samsung Optimized" to "High Performance" in how the laptop performs. I frequently find myself modifying the power management settings depending on whether I'm developing with multiple VMs and editors open or if I am just browsing. Because of the (relatively) long battery life, I spend over 90% of my time disconnected from the power.
SAMSUNG LAPTOP TOUCHPAD DRIVER NP700Z5C SOFTWARE
Overall Review: I use the system primarily for doing software development and for web browsing. Latest firmware helps, but still frequently run into situations where I get random accidental clicks or click drags as I'm trying to navigate. * Trackpad definitely is finicky as many people have pointed out. Compared to the other specs of the system, I tend to think that this is going to be the first thing to hold me back and want to upgrade. More than enough for the majority of people, but for hardcore developers or gamers this might not seem enough in a couple of years. It's usually the first comment I get from people: "wow, that's a nice looking laptop."Ĭons: * 8GB Max RAM capacity. Sleek with the brushed metal look and the backlit keyboard. * Great battery life (around 5/6 hours on average) Works great and would not know that it was a refurbed system if it weren't for the "Refurbished" sticker on the laptop. The affordability comes from this being a refurbished system. Pros: Very affordable price for what I consider to be a high end system.
